The Carnac alignments
Mystery and grandeur of the standing stones
In Brittany’s Morbihan département, the Carnac region is home to the world’s highest concentration of megaliths, erected over 6,500 years ago in the Neolithic period. The Carnac alignments form an exceptional site of megalithic alignments located in the communes of Carnac and La Trinité-sur-Mer. Hiking trails take you around the menhirs, dolmens and tumuli. The Carnac alignments are open to the public from October to March. From April to September, guided tours give access to the interior of the site.

The most beautiful beaches in Morbihan are in Carnac!
Five beaches, five atmospheres to discover
Protected from the prevailing westerly winds and swell, Carnac’s 5 fine sandy beaches are also well worth a visit. For those who prefer calm seas, family bathing and entertainment for all ages, head for the Grande Plage de Carnac, the Plage de Légenèse and the Plage de Saint Colomban (the furthest west of Carnac). For those who prefer smaller beaches, the beaches of Ty Bihan and Beaumer are to be preferred.
We’ll let you choose your favorite, as each has its own particularity. In order, starting from the border with La Trinité sur Mer, you’ll discover the Men Du beach, La Grande Plage (Port An Dro), Légenèse, Ty Bihan and then St Colomban. Don’t hesitate to hike from St Colomban to the port of La Trinité sur Mer. You’ll also discover the Kervillen site and its salt marshes. The GR34, the old customs trail that runs along the coast, will take you all the way to La Trinité.
In addition to swimming, beach clubs and waterside bars, Carnac and Quiberon Bay offer a wide range of water sports: sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, scuba diving and fishing.
