Gentle sports and discoveries on the ria
The Crach river is a “ria”, an arm of the sea that starts in Crac’h and ends in the port of La Trinité-sur-Mer. Here you can enjoy water sports such as sailing, paddling, kayaking… And discover the whole coastline.
From the campsite, you can explore the Ria de Crac’h by kayak. If you go upstream, you’ll pass the Baie de Saint-Jean. It’s beautiful and peaceful. If you go downstream, you’ll pass by oyster-farming sites and arrive at the Kerisper bridge in La Trinité-sur-Mer.
The lake alongside the campsite is a tidal lake that empties and fills with seawater twice a day, depending on the water level. If the coefficient is below 65, the lake does not fill!

Living ecosystems and fascinating landscapes
These geographical formations, typical of the Breton coast, are the result of marine erosion. The sea, with its powerful waves, nibbles away at the coasts, but also hollows out the river valleys. Over time, the valleys are flooded by the sea, giving rise to these rias.
Brittany’s rias, such as the ria de Crac’h and Étel in Morbihan, and the rias de l’Odet, de l’Aven and du Belon in Finistère, are not only magnificent to look at! They are also a remarkable reservoir of biodiversity for flora and fauna: aquatic plants, migratory fish, crustaceans, seabirds, mammals such as the European otter… They are also important for economic activities such as fishing, oyster farming, tourism and leisure (hiking, kayaking, sailing, diving, fishing, hunting, etc.).

Peace and natural beauty by the ria
The Rivière de Crac’h is an arm of the sea that ends at the port of La Trinité sur Mer. It is bordered by woods, rocks and the Bay of St Jean upstream. It was once considered one of the most remarkable bays for the development of oysters, particularly flat oysters. Indeed, the presence of natural benches where the indispensable mother oysters were found, together with the natural phenomenon of the tides, provided a perfect base for oyster farmers.
Depending on the tides, the ria will take on a totally different face. The peace and quiet offered by this inlet will appeal to all lovers of magnificent seascapes and calm.
The ria is also a perfect playground for kayaking and paddleboarding, as it is sheltered from the swell.
